History & and Architecture The Story
Domus Polymnia begins in the early 20th century, when the existing mansion was bought in 1935 by the family Theodorakis.
Domus Polymnia The initial structure, adding eventually varius spaces like atrium, upper floors and terraces got its final form housing during the last decades, the grandparents of the family until 1996.
After the departure of the relatives and a short period of disuse, in 2009 the successor of the mansion, Stefanos Theodorakis, began the first full scale renovation of the mansion, which by the year of 2010, opened its wooden gates to its first guests.

Architecture
Domus Polymnia is built with the Greek traditional triptych : local mansonry, wood casings and metal platings. The timeless traditional architectural style formed the whole building from exterior to interior parts, floors and ceilings.
The ideal orientation to the south, protects the mansion from the cold winter winds as also from the vertical summer sunlight, while it is favored from the soft sun light during the mild months. Fully renovated with great care and respect to its historical architectural tradition, Domus Polymnia is an excelent blend of traditional style, artistic taste and modern comforts. A small architectural jewel in the center of Spili for an ideal stay, all year around.
